It’s almost surreal,
It will take plenty of time to heal.
For most it’s not just the homes that are lost,
It’s the memories that are gone at a cost.
The community comes together,
Despite the awful weather.
Rebuilding will take time,
To bring it back to its prime.
The land is burdened,
The people are hurting.
How can so much be taken away,
And we are left with only ruins and grey.
The firefighters tired,
Yet to us they are well admired.
Their commitment for the community,
Brings us all together in unity.
The grounds have turned to ash,
Everything gone in a flash.
Trees burnt from the base,
The look of anguish on their face.
This is the reality of a bushfire and what many of my friends are going through right now. I don’t have the right words for the people suffering right now, but this is my little contribution. I never did well in English but I gave it my best, dog photography is always going to be more my thing but hey! Got to give it a try. If you would like to donate to either of my workmates who have lost their houses, I am including the links below.
I am also selling calendars and all the profits are going to these lovely ladies! If you need a calendar, please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
